"Even if I can't do much, the little bit I can do is better than nothing."

Luciana Capela, a.k.a. Lucy Flancape - her name as screenwriter, is a Brazilian filmmaker who started her career in the film industry at the age of 30 in Los Angeles. "I don't think there’s an age that limits you to go after your dreams, if you want something you should work for it. Nobody said it was going to be easy, but it’s totally worthwhile."

Five years ago Luciana started producing independent films, wrote several shorts and features, and edited all sorts of genre projects. When questioned about the festivals of which she participated and the awards she won, she says "what motivates me is not the awards, they are a bonus, and I am very honored by the recognition of my work, but what drives me in my creations is my will , my desire to convey messages of love and hope to people. If my work makes at least one person smile I will be happy."

Recently, Luciana has been dedicated to documentaries, selecting her projects based on what it conveys to the audience. "There is something magical in researching on topics that have universal meaning, of which people around the world can relate to and learn from."
